An annual event open to instrumentalists and vocalists ages 4 - 35

DUE TO COVID-19:
Preliminary and Semi-Final rounds of the competition will take place online/virtually.
The Final Round will take place live at Carnegie Hall.
Everyone attending the Final Round must follow all safety protocols as outlined by Carnegie Hall and/or local regulations.

Preliminary Round

DECEMBER 3, 2022

Repertoire: 1 original composition (no transpositions or arrangements of the composer's original work allowed) from one of the repertoire categories below. It must be performed from memory and cannot exceed 5 minutes. The performance will be stopped and/or score reduced if the competitor exceeds the allotted time.

Repertoire categories: Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Contemporary, Impressionism, Opera/Operetta, Broadway, Musical Theater, Jazz

Changes to the program: Submit request and payment of $30 by Late Fee Deadline.

Results: Announced within 1 day via email.

Awards & Evaluation Forms: All competitors will receive certificates and evaluation forms from judges via email.

Fee: Registration fee covers participation in the Preliminary Round. There is no additional fee to participate in this round of the competition.

Semi-Final Round

Repertoire: 1 original composition (no transpositions or arrangements of the composer’s original work allowed) by one of the composers listed below and this composition must be different from the composition presented during the Preliminary Round. It must be performed from memory and cannot exceed 5 minutes. The performance will be stopped and/or score reduced if the competitor exceeds the allotted time.

Repertoire: One of the two compositions presented during the Preliminary or Semi-Final round that has received the highest score from the judges or the one that judges selected regardless of score. You will also receive an email confirming the piece to be performed.

Results & Awards: All awards will be presented to competitors at the Final Round. Please note that competitors must be present to receive awards as they will not be sent by mail. For a complete list of awards see Awards section of Rules & Regulations.

Fee: Additional fee must be submitted by the deadline.
